I'm very pleased to be back as your webmaster for another year. The new season is upon us and all competitions and team pages are being updated.
This season there is now ONE league website. Everything that was accessible on the old desktop site is now available on all devices. The navigation bar is almost unchanged from the previous version, although it collapses on smaller screens to take up less screen space. As previously you will be able to click on a team name and get the team venue address and contact details, Captain and Vice-Captain's phone and email contacts, googlemap directions to the venue and the team's latest results and last years results and their current players - ALL IN ONE PLACE and from the landing/home page. Pick a team from the DIVISIONS or RESULTS pages and Bob's yer uncle - all you need to know about next weeks opposition, their recent form and how to get there.
The archives and roll of honour pages won't view so well on mobile devices simply because of the amount of information and photos they contain. For best results, always view these on your desktop.
The NEW PLAYER REGISTRATION FORM is now fully operational and allows users to upload documents and photos, even signatures if you have the hardware. This will prove to be particularly useful for those of us in the line of admin, and enables captains to upload a complete team sheet from the comfort of their bar stool. Technology eh? We live in hope...
One of the new features of the website are handy Google Calendar buttons to add key dates to your Calendar. These can also be synchronised with your preferred calendar; Google, Apple's iCal, Microsoft Outlook etc. so you never miss another date.
Clicking on the Google Calendar icon will open a page in your browser and give you the option of adding the event to your own calendar. Try it!
New Sponsors for the League to be announced shortly
We welcome and look forward to your comments or contributions. If there's any feature you think could improve this site, we'll incorporate it if possible. Get in touch
Those of you who have an iPhone will benefit from the html5 coding that I’ve used - It recognises telephone numbers on a page and lets you call the number just by touching it, much like links to web pages.
Feedback and comments are welcome as usual. If there's an additional feature you'd like to see, that's cool, just drop us a line and we'll see what we can do!
The once busy FORUM is no more and we now have a FACEBOOK page. A link appears on all pages, bottom right. This may well bring us coverage of other pool and snooker leagues and will be an interesting addition.
We're also busy completing the archives as far back as records allow. You can see our progress on the "reviews" pages under the "archives" in the toolbar. We're complete as far back as the 2001-2002 season with various things missing, and we think records will be pretty thin further back...
